Acne Myth #2: Squeezing A Pimple Helps Prevent Acne
When you squeeze or “pop” a pimple, bacteria can actually
enter your skin and cause infection. In severe cases, it can cause
permanent scarring.
I would suggest to let the pimple subside by itself or it break
by itself. When it does, wipe the pus off using a clean tissue and
apply mild antiseptic immediately.
Acne Myth #3: Sunlight can help cure acne
Sunlight does help to kill bacteria but on the other hand can dry
your skin and kill skin cells as well. The net effect is your skin
will produce more oil and cause acne.
If you are going to be in the sun for extended periods of time,
it is best to use a sunblock or a moisturizer to protect your skin.
Acne Myth #4: Cure For Acne
Despite what you may have heard, there is no miracle cure for acne.
Even products such as Accutane does not work for all types of people
and not to mention there are side effects for people using it. It
is only recommended by dermatologists for severe acne patients.
You will need to consult a doctor or a dermatologist who will then
prescribe the correct acne medication as well as a proper balanced
diet to cure your acne problems.
And a bonus tip……….
Acne Myth #5: Acne is not caused by diet
The type of food you take does affect whether you have an acne breakout
or not. This has been scientifically proven and certain types of
food such as fried food can have an adverse effect on your acne.
However, that does not mean you can have pizza or French fries.
It just means you eat in moderation.
